The Barbour Living Heritage Village is located in Newtown, Bonavista Bay, the 'Venice' of Newfoundland. Visit the restored heritage properties of the Barbours, a prominent merchant family in the coastal Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. There's nothing quite like a walk in the past! We'll take you back to the way it used to be.
There's the old schoolhouse, a sealing interpretation centre, fisherman's stage, theatre, art gallery, and visitor reception center. Learn how to knit a fishing net. Visit our gift and craft shop which is "jam packed" with local crafts and souvenirs.
Let us pack a basket for you and go for a picnic along the trail. Look out over the Tickle and imagine. Get your hands in the dough and learn how to bake our way, then taste the Newfoundland delicacies in the Olde Shoppe Restaurant, also located on site. Enjoy hilarious dinner theatre, live theatrical productions and take a trip back in time through living interpretation.
An experience you don't want to miss!
