Dine or Picnic

Olde Shoppe Restaurant

The Olde Shoppe Restaurant is a favourite for residents and travellers alike.  The food is absolutely delicious.

Daily specials that reflect the history of the village
90 seat with an extra 32 seats on the deck

Menu - DinnerIn this part of Newfoundland, we call our noon day meal ‘dinner’ and our evening meal ‘supper’.  For us lunch is served in between meals – what others might refer to as a ‘snack’.  Regardless what it’s called – you won’t be disappointed.  Come dine with us or enjoy a cup of tea and our homemade muffins, biscuits or molasses buns.  If the weather permits you can also enjoy being served out on the deck where you can take in the spectacular view of the Tickle.  Menu - Supper

As an added feature, we also prepare picnics for those who want to strike out on their own and enjoy the meal outside.

Dining at the Olde Shoppe Restaurant is the perfect place to experience the food, the traditions and the view. Learn how to make a pie. Join Aunt Hetti in the Rita Love Memorial Kitchen, located within the restaurant, if you want to see how pastries and breads are made.   You can also participate in this culinary experience.  But you’ll need to reserve a spot because spaces are limited.

Experience! Enjoy!

Picnic

Do you like going for a picnic?  In Newfoundland, we love to hike and experience nature in the raw.  We also love to eat so we rarely head off on a hike or adventure without taking along a picnic lunch.  Many of our guests are just like us. At the Olde Shoppe Restaurant we offer packed picnic lunches complete with everything you need including picnic basket and picnic blanket made from Newfoundland Tartan.  Whether you want to picnic in the garden, head out to walk the Cape Island Walking Trail and beach located off Cape Freels or go over to Greenspond to tour the Courthouse and walk the trails there, we’ll prepare your basket for you.

We offer a full picnic experience with a made to order meal, a blanket and table cloth all neatly contained in a picnic basket. There is no shortage of beautiful scenic areas to explore before finding the perfect area to sit and enjoy our picnic lunch.

Cost:  $15 to $50
Prep time:  It will take us about 30 minutes to prepare your basket.

Then off you go!  But be sure to return the Basket and Blanket to us after your adventure.
